Gum Disease

Do you experience red bleeding gums or plaque build up?

Periodontal or gum disease is an ailment that attacks the gums and bone surrounding the teeth. A common symptom of gum disease is plaque build up. Plaque is a coating bacterial debris that builds up on the teeth and begins to destroy the gums.

Gum disease is the number one reason for decay and tooth loss, and disturbingly it is believed that four out of five people unknowingly suffer from it. Studies have shown a link to gum disease and more frightening conditions including diabetes, pneumonia and heart disease.

Good Oral hygiene, regular dental visits and a balanced diet are essential to prevent developing gum disease. At Dental on Kennedy we take gum disease very seriously and employ a range of treatments depending on the severity. The earlier treatment begins the less invasive it will be making regular check ups essential.

If your experiencing symptoms such as bleeding gums, loose teeth, bad breath, tender and puffy gums or pus around your teeth contact Dental on Kennedy and make an appointment.
