Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal treatment is requires when decay or infection begins to attack the nerve of a tooth. The purpose of root canal therapy is to save the tooth, as all infected tissue inside is removed, and the space is filled with specialised minerals to restore the tooth back to normal.

Signs that you may require root canal treatment include:

  • Abscess on the gum
  • Temperature sensitivity
  • Severe pain
  • Swelling
  • Tenderness and bleeding

Once it has been determined that the Root Canal Therapy has been successful, a permanent porcelain crown will be placed to seal the tooth and allow you to function normally.

Root canal therapy should not be required if you are strict about the health of your mouth and take oral hygiene seriously. Seeing one of Dental on Kennedy’s dentists every 6 months is recommended to ensure your teeth are healthy and are being maintained.
